Let me introduce Ansan Reed Marsh Park where you can feel the autumn of
Korea! It is located in Ansan, Gyeonggi-do, just an hour away from Seoul.
Originally, the Ansan Reed Marsh Park was built as an environmental treatment
facility to improve the water quality in South Korea. Its success made the park Korea’s first large-scale artificial wetland using reeds and
other aquatic plants.
A visit to the park will not only give you a space to relieve stress by nature but you will also learn inside this building the various flora and fauna that occupies the park and how these reeds and other aquatic plants help in the water purification process.
To feed your curiosity, this is how it works:
The impurities contained in the water that flows in the
reed wetland are filtered as they pass through between reeds. The
microorganisms on the stems of reeds decompose the impurities, and the reeds
absorb the contaminants in the water.
Apart from its practical contribution, the park itself has been attracting a number of visitors daily. Visitors here enjoy a stroll along the river and an opportunity to take wonderful Autumn shots that will make friends visit the place as well!
