Lighting Festival at Jeonghwa Hanok Village, Ilsan

Besides the usual Jeonju Hanok Village or Namsangol Hanok Village in Seoul, do you know that there is also a hanok (traditional Korean-style house) village in Ilsan city? From now till next February 29, the Hanok Village in Jeongwa will hold its second lighting festival, with a theme of harmonizing the beauty of hanok with lights, providing a great opportunity for visitors to appreciate the beauty of Korea’s traditional architecture! :)

This year, you can enjoy various types of jangseung (traditional Korean totem poles) and  sotdae (tall poles that were built at the entrance of the village as a symbol of prayer for a good harvest). The lighting festival will take place every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday until the end of December 2015 and it will continuously be opened to the public daily (Mondays through Sundays) in January and February 2016!

How about enjoying your trip to Korea this winter with this warm and welcoming lightings at this amazing cozy hanok village in Ilsan? :)
