Yet another brand new week, and today we'd be introducing one of the biggest festivals in Gyeonggi-do and Korea as a whole! It is none other than the 52nd Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival! 

Celebrating its 52nd anniversary this year, Suwon Hwaseong Cultural Festival is one of the largest culture and tourism festivals in Korea. It preserves the spirit of Hwaseong Fortress, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site, and commemorates the filial affection and innovations of King Jeonjo, who built the fortress.

This is a festival that is held annually to also celebrate Suwon Citizen’s Day!

From the street parades to traditional performances, there are a variety of programs that participants can truly experience the local culture of the city.

Over the years, Suwon Hwaseong Festival has become established as a quintessential regional cultural festival that promotes the traditional culture and tourism of Suwon. This October, you are cordially invited to Suwon, where the culture and art of the past and present elegantly harmonized.
